Welcome to the home of  Maasai Development Forum on the web.

Maasai Development Forum is a self help group that has been established for the purpose of preserving the culture of the Maasai and helping the Maasai people out of their socio-economic problems.

The forum seeks to ensure that the Maasai people are able to celebrate their culture while coping with modern day problems. This is because the Maasai are very proud of their culture and while this is very good, it may mean that they are unable to cope with the modern economy. The problems that afflict the Maasai are many and varied. Lack of clean drinking water, preventable diseases such as waterborne diseases, poor infrustructure and a lack of a ready market for their meat products mean that they are stuck in a cycle of poverty and an inability to overcome such.

This is in recognition of the fact that the society  does not have to lose its time tested cultural heritage so as to survive in the modern society.

The Maasai Development Forum invites all well-wishers from whatever background in this noble cause.

It is sad that there has been a lack of vision and leadership that will steer the Maasai in improving themselves in light of the terrible conditions that they have to live in everyday. However, sometimes the answer is not in politics but in injecting aid directly at the grass-roots. That's what this forum is all about, giving help directly to the people who need it.

We will keep updating this website with news and information about our activities. We have also a dedicated market-place where we place some items made by Maasai in a bid to raise funds for the activities. This also provides a source of employment.
